Cover Story

"Instead of slaving over a problem wall with spackle, sandpaper and paint, it may make more sense simply to cover it with fabric.  Not only does the use of fabric lend a touch of luxurious texture, but it insulates the wall against cold and sound, as well.  Gathering or shirring fabric takes several times as much fabric to cover the wall as would be needed for a flat application.  Lightweight fabrics drape better than heavy fabric when this method is used.  As for hardware, all that is needed are extendable rods and extension brackets for hanging the fabric.  A striking effect can be achieved by simply covering a single wall using this technique.
The decorating possibilities for your home are boundless.  Working within your framework of affordability, you can create an environment that expresses your individuality and lifestyle preferences.  Decorating your home need not be an expensive proposition.  Make choices wisely.  Tackle one room at a time making the end results a reflection of your needs and desires." - On Interior Design
